Emma's 3rd Birthday Part 2

I promise I wanted to post this sooner, but other things came up.  Anyways, back to the Bubble Guppies party.  Emma wanted to have lunch foods just like on the Bubble Guppies show.  I bought these bright buckets at Oriental Trading.  They are a little more than I wanted to spend, but I love the way they looked.  I can also use them for other things.  Here is what was in each bucket: chips, veggies (carrots and celery), ranch dip, and fruit snacks.  My mom and dad cut up all of the carrots and celery and put them in little baggies for each guest.  Then my mom put yummy ranch dressing into little plastic containers.  They were perfect for the party and Emma loved them so much!  Thanks Grandma and Grandpa.  You are the best!  There was also makings for turkey or ham sandwiches.

My sister RuthAnne made Clam Cookies and Peanut Butter Beach Balls for the party.  You can check out her blog for the Peanut Butter Ball recipe.  It is probably Emma's favorite dessert.

Emma was so excited to see Grandma Warner and Great Grandma Nelson come to the door.:)

Adam and Emma loved the hanging ornaments 'bubbles.'

Emma loves to have picnics so I put a blanket on the floor so Emma and her cousin could eat there.  Plus we don't have a ton of room in our townhome for a lot of chairs.;)

After we ate we played Bubble Guppies bingo.  Here are Dallin and RuthAnne.  My family is so amazing to always participate in all the games.  Emma and Adam don't have any cousins yet on my side of the family, so the grown-ups have to play the games.

I think Emma's favorite thing we did at the party was the piñata.

Of course they loved the candy after the piñata broke open.

We also played Fishketball.  The kids threw balls through the hole.

Next up... the cake.  Emma always has to help others blow out the candles on their cakes, but this time it was her cake.

Then Emma opened all of her gifts.  She was so excited!
Great Grandma Nelson gave her a bunny house she has been wanting for a long time.

Aunt Courtney and Uncle Brandon gave her restaurant menus, and an order form on a clipboard.  It was so thoughtful!  Emma loves to play restaurant.

Grandma and Grandpa Melzer gave her clothes, this cute Elsa jacket, and toys.

Aunt RuthAnne and Uncle Dallin gave her a little office.  The office had notepads, stickers, crayons, post-its, a watch and of course sunglasses.  Emma loves everything in it!

Grandma and Grandpa Warner gave Emma a darling Christmas outfit and this penguin.  She has wanted it for so long.

Anyone who would like to could fill a plastic fish necklace with sand before they left the party.  I bought the fish necklaces and sand at Oriental Trading.

Emma and I made a Bubble Guppies scene on a trifold project board.  We wrapped it in blue wrapping paper, added seaweed, sand, and of course Bubble Guppies.  We made it for a fishing game, but it also worked perfectly for a backdrop on the dessert table.  I love when you can use something in more than one way.:)
Everyone came over to fish for a favor.  Candy bars for the guys and a little notepad for the girls.

We had such a great night!  Emma is still talking about this party.:)

Oh I love my little Emma.  I can't believe she is 3!

Emma's 3rd Birthday-Part 1

Emma's birthday party was a success!  I was so happy how everything turned out.  Believe me when I say Emma helped with everything.  She loves to make things and help out Mommy.  Let's start with how we prepped and decorated for the party...
Emma insisted on having a piñata for the party.  Wal-Mart does not sell Bubble Guppies party supplies anymore.  At least at our Wal-Mart in Utah.  Luckily I got some plates and stickers on sale before they ended selling them for good.  I found the piñata on Oriental Trading.  They have all of the party supplies for Bubble Guppies on there.
My kids filled the piñata.  They loved it!  They wanted to fill another piñata when they were all done with the Bubble Guppies one.:)  Even Adam was putting them in.

I wanted to make an ocean scene for this party.  I bought a few blue plastic tablecloths from Dollar Tree.  Then I taped it to the counter and had it drape to the floor.  Emma and Adam had so much with it up.  They would run in and out of it.  It entertained them for an hour or so.

I found these big coloring pages on sale at Wal-Mart.  Emma and I colored some of them and hung them on the wall.  They worked perfectly to decorate the party area.  When I taught Kindergarten, I would buy big coloring books for the holidays from Costco or Sam's Club.  I would color some of the pictures in the book, laminate them, and hang them on the walls for the holidays.  The kids loved the big pictures and my walls would look great.

To add to the ocean scene I used green crepe paper for seaweed.  It is super easy to do.  Just tape the bottom of the seaweed to the wall or tablecloth and twist a few times, then tape the top.  I printed out some fish and starfish on different colored cardstock to put in our ocean.  Then to finish it off I typed some messages for the birthday girl in talking bubbles.  If you have seen Bubble Guppies you know the fish say things, so I put the talking bubbles by the fish.  Emma and Adam really enjoyed putting up the fish.

The morning of Emma's birthday she received two special phone calls.  The first one was from her Grandma Warner (my mom).  She loved talking to Grandma first thing in the morning.  I remember all the times my Grandma and Grandpa Nelson would call me on my birthdays.  It meant so much to me and I know Emma and Adam will love it too.

Then Molly, Gil and Bubble Puppy called Emma.  She was on cloud 9.  She could not believe that some of the Bubble Guppies called her.  Emma is still talking about it.  Check out Nick Jr. Birthday Club  to get a personalized birthday phone call for your birthday girl or boy.  It was so easy to do and I know your child will love to receive a call from their favorite Nick Jr. character.

For every birthday my amazing mom would have everyone in the family decorate a poster and then hang it on the garage for everyone to see.  We loved seeing the posters on our birthday and reading what our siblings wrote.  It meant a lot to each one of us growing up.  I wanted to do something similar for my kids so I made this sign on the computer, laminated it, and attached a ribbon to it.  It looked so cute on our front door.

I had Bubble Guppies music playing on the TV during the party.  I found the music on YouTube.

Here are some of the games we played during the party.  The green bucket has balls for the game 'Fishketball.'  I wanted basketballs, but I already had the little baseballs so I decided to just use those.  Then I made a Bubble Guppies bingo game.  If you would like a copy of it just let me know.:)

This is the favor Emma passed out at the end of the party.  A bag of Swedish fish is attached to the fish bowl tag.  I got the idea here.

I bought some blue glass pebbles at Dollar Tree and a glass fish bowl.  I counted the pebbles before putting them in the bowl to have this be a guessing game.  The Molly and Bubble Puppy figures are from Wal-Mart.  When the guests arrived they would guess how many "bubbles" were in the fish bowl and write it on a piece of paper.  The person that guessed the closest won a prize!

I have an easel, I bought from Target, I decorate for all the holidays.  I made sure to change it for Emma's party.  I had so many stickers, I had to use them.  I just attached a piece of Scotch tape to the back of each sticker, and then to the easel.  It gave it a 3D look.  Plus when it came time to clean up I just pulled off the sticker and tape, and I didn't have to try to scrape off a sticker.

Stayed tuned, tomorrow I will post more of Emma's party.  Have a great night!

Preschool Thanksgiving Feast

My little Emma turns 3 tomorrow!  We celebrated her birthday today in preschool.

We played some fun Thanksgiving games before our feast.  This game is called, Roll a Thanksgiving Dinner.  Students roll a food cube and if they have that food on their plate they cover it with the matching food card.

Emma was so excited she finished her Thanksgiving dinner first.

Next up was Pin the Hat on the Turkey.  The girls loved this game, but I think they may have peeked.;)

While I prepped the food the girls colored their placemat.  Download the placemat HERE.

Then the girls helped me set the table.  They passed out the plates, napkins and forks.

They wore a little pilgrim outfit during the feast.  So cute!

We had olives, pickles, popcorn, cheese, pretzels, turkey, marshmallows, rolls and pumpkin pie.  Note to self: never have that much food for two little girls.  I guess I am use to 20 plus students.:)  These two cuties are always asking for more snack, but today they barely ate anything.  Each of them had leftovers to take home.

After free play we played, Turkey's Colorful Feathers.  We have been working on colors so this game was perfect for them.  To play, each student spins the paper clip on the spinner.  They identify the color the paperclip lands on and takes that color feather.  I had each girl spin 5 times.

We went back to the table and glued the feathers onto our turkey.  When their turkey was complete, I pointed to each feather and had them tell me the color.  I wish I took a picture of the completed turkeys they turned out really cute.  I will try to put all of the games we played together and put it in my TPT store so you can play them with your class or family.

2 Thanksgiving feasts done, 1 birthday party to go.  I will make sure to post pictures of Emma's 3rd birthday party.  Have a great day!
