Preschool-Week of January 12th

This was our first week back from Winter Break.  Emma was so excited for preschool to start again.

From the beginning of the year I have taught the girls about the Rule Train.  The rule train helps the girls remember how we act when we are at Morning Meeting.  I used the same rules with my Kindergarteners.  They work so well!  This week was a great week to reinforce the rules, so they each started making their own train.

We did the engine and the eye car.

We worked on our coloring.  I found this great coloring anchor chart here so I had to make one.

Then we practiced what we learned by coloring a snowman for our January portfolio page.

We started using little pitchers during snack time.  The girls thought it was so neat that they were able to pour their own juice.  Thank you Play to Learn Preschool for the great idea!

For singing, the girls took turns taking a snowflake off of the poster.  On the back I wrote different songs we have been working on or winter songs we need to learn.  Then we would sing the song.

I try to keep Adam busy too.  He put large buttons from Oriental Trading in a bucket.

He was very frustrated at first because he couldn't get them in the hole.

Then he got it and was so proud of himself!:)

We had another busy day today in preschool.
We built our name with fish.

We made our Ii ABC shape book page.

Adam was hard at work pulling all of the diapers out of the container.
He was very happy with what he did.

We then helped the snowmen find snowflakes in the "snow."  Each of the girls had a card and they found that many snowflakes.

Then they had so much fun "playing in the snow" with scoops and spoons.

They made snow soup with snowflakes.

Brynlee and her mom gave Emma this darling shirt.  I am so glad Emma and Brynlee were wearing them the same day.  They looked adorable!

Today was Toy Day.  The girls were able to bring some toys they got from Santa.
Emma showed the class her cat Figaro that Santa gave her.  She also showed her purse Grandma Warner gave her.  She doesn't go anywhere without this purse.  She said her Grandma gave her the purse because, "Grandma loves me so much!"

Brynlee showed her Star Wars light saber and flashlight.  Everyone thought it was so cool how the light saber had candy in it.  She loves Star Wars and knows so much about it!

We made the next two cars on our Rule Train.  Ears are listening and lips that are silent.  We have two more cars to go and then they can take it home to practice our preschool rules with their families.
